Timeshares By Owner contacted us a year and a half ago. We were assured that our timeshare located in Scottsdale AZ would sell in a matter of months. We started our property out at $12000 dollars on their recommendation. We have since dropped our price to $999. No calls yet!! We have however received multiple calls from Timeshares By Owner offering to advertise more or sell our property auction style for $800 more. WAIT!!! I already paid them $450 to advertise this property and they can’t even do that. Why would I give them more money?!!
DO NOT USE TIMESHARE RESELL COMPANIES OR ADVERTISING COMPANIES. WE HAVE BEEN TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF TWICE NOW BY TWO DIFFERENT COMPANIES. JUST SAY NO!!

NOTE: I cannot comment as to the quality of the service that was provided to “Jack” in this particular instance, however, there is something that all advertisers should understand very clearly, which is this; when you are paying for advertising upfront, you are paying just for this and only for this, you are not paying for results, market conditions or for a guaranteed sale of your property, so don’t think you are. Corporate advertisers understand this and gamble everyday on billions of dollars worth of advertising you see daily on TV, Internet and in magazine’s worldwide. Much of which doesn’t pay for itself, some of which does, and this is the gamble o fit all. Most amature advertisers lose money, especially when they’re selling such an unwanted product as a second hand timeshare. So expect not to sell it for much or fast.
That said: A listing company can’t and shouldn’t promise you anything other than that you’re property will be listed on the website and through any other mediums included in the advertising package, that is all. Anything more is unethical and illegal according to the FCC. So if an Internet listing company guarantees you response from your ad listing; run don’t walk. Understand fully that your prepayment for the listing advertisement is a gamble and will not be refunded if you get no calls or don’t sell the property; that it’s merely a payment to pay the “Medium; mode of transmition” to transmit the message costs money, the Internet isn’t free, so do you own due diligence and then roll the dice.
